Style:

I’ll give you something to do rather than a pose to hold — walk, talk, react to each other. My favourite frames usually happen about half an hour in, once people stop performing for the camera. Natural light, warm and true-to-colour editing, nothing heavily filtered.

Likes:

I like the small things between two people — a hand on a back, someone laughing at something only the two of them understood. Couples, proposals, families, solo travellers; the thing I’m looking for is the same in all of them.

Recommended places:

In Calgary — the downtown walk, the Central Library, and the older streets around Inglewood and 17th Ave. The city also has more parks than people expect, most of them along the river and quiet even on weekends. Good light between the buildings, good light under the trees, and easy to wander for an hour without a plan.

Banff, Canmore and Lake Louise — an hour or so out of the city, and the reason most people come to Alberta. Lakes, mountains, and the kind of open space you can’t get downtown. These take a bit more planning, and a travel fee applies outside the city.
