Cairo is a contradiction in itself and has been famously been termed as a magnificent mess. Amid the mass of dusty highways filled with donkey carts and flashy cars, its mosques tower magnificently with an urban confidence. Travelers stream in from all over the world to catch a glimpse of the monumental historic city. Cairo is the home of the existent wonder of the ancient world, the Giza Pyramids. Their history, contradicted, disputed and unexplained to many, the pyramids stand in awe peeking out of the city beyond the thousands of artefacts in Museums and Antiquities.
Whether you are a traveler or a tourist, it is unthought of to travel to Egypt and miss the pyramids.
For the lovers of travel, pack a bag and let’s go down South. But first, you need to capture this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to marvel at ancient works aging to over 4000 years back. For that, you will need a professional photographer who understands the beauty of travel and capturing moments as they are in the right sights.
It’s My Birthday!
It is pretty exciting to turn a year older and while traditionally, people indulged in celebrations, today it is more of self-refectory. Whilst there is a variety of self-reflection activities, the most formidable is travel. People pack a bag and travel to find perspectives and set a new rail for the new year.
Recently, Lagra contacted us to cover her shoot in Cairo. She was pretty excited to turn a year older. She specifically wanted a shoot that embodied present purpose, self-love, liberation, freedom, fearlessness, and black girl magic. Our local photographer, Amir was more than excited to do the shoot for Lagra. He not only understood the pyramids, but also knew the perfect spots for the photos.
The Pyramids
It is located in the Giza Desert that stretches through the South West of Cairo. The magnificent impeccably geometric shaped Giza Pyramids is the most popular tourist attraction in Cairo. The pyramids were built with a geometric preciseness to serve as tombs for the ancient kings of Egypt, with limestones aligned at 51 or 52 degrees to the compass points.
The rocks provided a bespoke spot for some of the photos, sometimes providing a background and other times, acting as the props. The massiveness of the pyramids provided a scene for photos that spoke of fearlessness. Amir played with different spots around the pyramids to take amazing captions that show a woman who is full of self-love a stint of black girl magic.
The Plateau
The majestic reclining Sphinx stands tall in the plateau overlooking tombs and temples of the ancients. The local photographer could easily navigate around the plateau and capture exquisite photos around the system of passageways. She balances the right amount of imagery and scenery. The passageway overlooking the Sphinx are a perfect recipe for liberation, purpose and an adventure in the pyramids.
A significant distance from the pyramids make up an interesting sight. Amir shoots some of the photos from the plateau, with the pyramids peeking from a distance. Lagra pops out in the picture embodying freedom and still a whole lot of black girl magic. This shoot embodied self-reflection and new beginnings because the photographer understands how to use the lenses to tell a story.
