The number of activities in Hong Kong is so great, that we had to narrow it down to our top five choices for fabulous family fun! After reading about these attractions, be ready to go out and explore as a family!
1) Ocean Park
Ocean Park is an aquatic theme park and is a great choice for families with young children.
If you have older children, they will love it as well!
There are quite a few animal exhibits and the park is quite expansive, so make sure you either bring or rent a stroller for the little ones. Some of the must see exhibits include the Sea Jelly Spectacular, two panda areas and the dolphin and sea lion shows.
For a little break midday, you will want to see the wonderful views that are available while you are taking a ride on the cable car.
2) Star Ferry
An afternoon adventure can include a ride on the Star Ferry.
The ferry is located within Victoria Harbour and offers a boat ride that lasts approximately 15 minutes. You will be transported between Kowloon and Hong Kong Island, while enjoying the view of the skyline as well as the Chinese junks and other boats in this busy harbor.
Your adventure here will also include seeing sailors that are dressed in traditional uniform.
3) Big Buddha (Tian Tan)
As a family you can ride the Ngong Ping 360 cable car, which offers views of the Ngong Ping Village, Big Buddha and the Po Lin monastery from high above the ground.
After riding this cable car, you will be able to visit the Big Buddha Statue. In order to see the Big Buddha, you will need to climb up 200 steps.
4) Hong Kong Park and Zoological and Botanical Gardens
The Hong Kong Park and Zoological and Botanical Gardens are located in Kowloon and it is a great way to get your whole family active and outside.
You will be able to walk around and see many animals, waterfalls and large ponds filled with turtles and fish.
5) Avenue of Stars
At night, a visit to the Avenue of Stars is a great way to end the day. Everyone in the family can walk around and see many statues of Hong Kong stars.
The children can even match their handprints up to those of the stars. There is quite a bit of entertainment to keep everyone occupied for an evening of fun.
