A Solo Adventure and Photo Shoot in Osaka, Japan

Osaka is one of Japan’s largest cities and is located on the island of Honshu where the River Yodo meets the ocean. The numerous waterways flowing through the city have lead to a unique architectural design of bridges and canals. The stunning scenery coupled with the historic significance and modern style of the city make it one of the number one tourist destinations in the world; you can experience all the charm and splendor for yourself and come away with fantastic photographs of your trip when you book a professional photographer in Osaka.

Explore the world-class art museums, sample the delicious flavors of Japanese cuisine, and venture a bit farther out from the city to see some of the wildlife regions. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity and you’ll want photographs to remember all the amazing new things you’ll witness.

Osaka Aquarium

One of the largest aquariums in the world, you’ll be able to walk through displays of fish and other marine life from across the globe. The building itself is considered one of the best modern architecture landmarks in the city, and particularly at night when the lights are turned on it becomes a spectacular photograph site. In the aquarium there are also exhibits that focus on Japanese marine life, so you can learn a bit more about the wildlife of the country.

Osaka Castle

The military commander and political leader Toyotomi Hideyoshi commissioned this castle to be built in 1586 and was, at that point, the largest castle in Japan. When Hideyoshi lost power in 1615 his castle was destroyed, only to be rebuilt several years later owing to its splendor and cultural significance. Since this original reconstruction, the castle had to be rebuilt once more in 1931.

While some of the original glory has been lost in time, the castle has also taken on more cultural meaning. It is an iconic symbol of Osaka today, and a truly beautiful landmark. When you tour the palace, stop to take the opportunity to get some photographs on the top floor, with stunning views of Osaka stretching out below. There are also numerous displays with historic information and artwork significant to Japanese culture.

Tempozan Harbor Village

The primary feature of this harbor area is the majestic Tempozan Ferris Wheel, a popular activity for tourists and locals alike. The wheel is over 100 meters in diameter, and from the top you’ll be treated to some of the best views of the city. Both from a distance and on the ride itself, the Tempozan Ferris Wheel is one of the greatest photography sites in the city.

Shitenno-ji Temple

By far the best-known temple in Japan, the Shitenno-ji Temple is both beautiful and culturally important. Its origins go all the way back to AD 59 when it was Japan’s first Buddhist temple, making it a very significant historic landmark. Due to changes and the natural wear and tear of time, parts of the temple had to be rebuilt and other additions were made, yet the original structure and symbolic religious site have remained.

On the tour of the temple you’ll be able to see numerous works of traditional Japanese art including paintings and statues. There is also a tranquil garden area known for its peaceful and serene atmosphere. When you’re doing a photo shoot in Osaka, it’s nice to find sites that capture the ancient traditions of the city, and the Shitenno-ji Temple is a perfect place to do this.

Umeda Sky Building

A relatively recent but already iconic feature of Osaka the adjoined towers of the Umeda Sky Building. The buildings are filled with office spaces, but from the street looking up you can see strange and unique platform structures connecting the two towers. Visitors can take the escalator ride up to the top observation deck where they can look down to the streets, nearly 200 meters below.

Take the time to explore the area around the towers before you go up to the top; there is a lovely garden area with walking paths next to ponds and flower gardens and beautiful statues and fountains decorating the way. Even if you’re afraid of heights, it’s worth visiting the Umeda Sky Building from the ground, since from here you can still appreciate the amazing architecture. Inside and out, there are plenty of places to capture memorable photographs.

Plan a special trip for yourself and come to Osaka, Japan. Everyone deserves a treat in their life, and in Osaka you’ll have the opportunity to travel in true style. Your memories of the culture, cuisine, art, and nature will all be preserved in your photographs.
