Venice, one of the world’s most beautiful destinations, is a city in Italy where Renaissance artists like Titan flourished. Beauty is the very essence of Venice. It is also the setting for the magical day Gerti was planning. For him, Venice was the perfect place to propose to the love of his life. But it had to be special, and he wanted it to be a surprise. So, Gerti contacted us, and our local photographer, Claudia, was sent to capture the extraordinary moments as Gerti’s girlfriend begins to realize that events in Venice are about to change her life.
The day started with the couple taking a romantic gondola ride on the Grand Canal, alongside Venice’s beautiful churches and buildings, many built centuries ago. The Grand Canal is one of Venice’s major thoroughfares in a city where automobiles are mostly banned. It appears to be just a normal gondola ride, but Gerti has more than sightseeing on his mind. While his girlfriend is enthralled by Venice’s charm, Gerti is preparing for his big moment. Our local photographer, Claudia, can hardly wait.
With Venice leisurely floating past their gondola, Gerti finally reaches for the ring and proposes. For a moment, it made his girlfriend forget about everything else. Thrilled and excited, she said “Yes!” And the moment was captured forever.
Still stunned, she can’t stop admiring the ring. Many girls dream of a romantic proposal in Venice, but she is actually living the moment. Thanks to Claudia, it is something she’ll never forget as our local photographer captures the joy that the couple is so obviously feeling.

The happy couple continues to enjoy a serene glide down the Grand Canal as their gondolier takes them past Venice’s spectacular Baroque buildings. Luckily, they will be able to relive these enchanting moments for years to come.
Finally back on dry land, they happily pose for our local photographer, with the Canal and historic buildings of Venice in the background. You can see by the elated look on their faces that the city of Venice is definitely living up to their expectations and dreams. This is where they made their lifetime commitment to each other, and it couldn’t have been more perfect.
They stroll to St. Mark’s Square, which is surrounded by the incredible St. Mark’s Basilica, with its opulent Byzantine architecture, and the old clocktower, the Campanile di San Marco. The 15 th century Doge’s Palace is on the left. Surprisingly, the Piazza’s famed pigeons seem to be giving the newly-engaged couple some alone time. The couple is literally surrounded by Venice’s most important historical buildings after creating some history of their own.
Alone at last. It’s been a day Gerti and his now-fiancé will never forget. What started as an ordinary tourist adventure turned into a surprise engagement and the beginning of their new life. Our local photographer, Claudia, was along for the ride, capturing the romance of Venice and the love of the newly-engaged pair.
