Dubrovnik is known as the Pearl of the Adriatic. The city’s Old Town offers the chance to step back in time to a world of medieval ramparts and fortresses by the sea. One family recently made this stunning seaport the backdrop for their photos.
Family Photo Shoot with a Professional in Dubrovnik, Croatia
A recent Localgrapher shoot took place in the beautiful city of Dubrovnik. This family photo shoot was arranged by Frank, who was traveling with his wife and young daughter to the Dalmatia region of Croatia.
The trio was excited to add a family photo shoot to their vacation lineup. Our professional photographer based Dubrovnik, Nino (check out an interview with Nino here), helped to truly capture the beauty and charm of Dubrovnik, in a way that a cell phone camera simply couldn’t.
And best of all, instead of worrying about who was going to take the vacation photos, all three of them were able to actually be in the pictures!
The family was able to take home some wonderfully unique and personalized mementos of their holiday in Croatia.
The beautiful “golden hour” sunlight provided some stunning shots on the harbor. The water was sparkling, the sky was clear, and all in all, it was a postcard-perfect day for family fun. The quaint stone streets, Baroque and Gothic architecture, and distinctive red-tiled roofs of the city made for an inspiring backdrop for these family portraits.

It seemed fitting that much of the shoot took place at the harbor – Dubrovnik is, historically, a seafaring city. It has been a prominent port in the Mediterranean since medieval times.
The city’s long history has created a richly textured mosaic of cultures and influences, from the Byzantine Empire to Venetian merchants to Spanish-Jewish refugees in the 1500s, to Austrian rule and eventually Croatian independence.
Evidence of the city’s heritage is most visible in Dubrovnik’s Old Town district, where menacing medieval stone ramparts rise above the now-peaceful streets.
If you want to get a real sense of the city, visit during the Dubrovnik Summer Festival. It’s a 45-day-long celebration of all things Dubrovnik, as well as an international festival of music, theater, and art. The festival runs from July 10 to August 25.
As one of the premier tourist destinations in the Mediterranean, Dubrovnik offers a remarkable glimpse into the past.
Family Photos Captured by a Vacation Photographer
Frank and his wife were thrilled to capture these images of their family. They had so much fun with their daughter – and, of course, with the daughter’s adorable stuffed monkey in tow.
That happiness definitely shines through in the photos. The pictures are bright, colorful, and full of genuine smiles and laughter – exactly the way they’ll want to remember their Croatian holiday.
