What better place to enjoy as a family than one of the USA’s most well-known cities? With its striking architecture on the banks of Lake Michigan, it can only be the beautiful city of Chicago.
Capturing Quality Family Time
We were contacted by Amy who was keen to get some vacation photos with her in laws during a recent trip to Chicago. Local photographer Chris joined the family for their tour of the city and was only too happy to assist the family in capturing some much loved time together.
No visit to the Windy City would be complete without admiring the famous, giant bean sculpture called Cloud Gate by British sculptor, Anish Kapoor. This unique backdrop enabled Chris to capture some incredible photos of the family with reflections of the city’s skyline in the sculpture’s mirrored surface.
Normally packed with tourists, Chris was able to use his insight of the city to pick the perfect time of day for the family to enjoy the sculpture and pose for their photographs without the usual crush of sightseers around them.
As the family strolled happily through a local park overlooking the city’s imposing skyline, their vacation photographer could capture the two couples in a variety of fun and candid poses. Not having to worry about setting the camera up on a timer, or giving it to a stranger to take a photo, meant that Amy and her family were in receipt of photos that reflected the quality of their time together and the happy occasion.
Pretty In The City
Chicago is famed for its striking mixture of architecture, including skyscraper towers and bridges. Knowing where to head to take photographs that show a softer side to Chicago’s imposing structures is a skill of your local photographer that will ensure you benefit from a unique set of photos.
With a selection of pictures taken amidst the pretty flowers and trees of a downtown park, Amy and her family can enjoy a wide range of memories from just the one city trip.
Beautiful Photos In All Weather

Although the day for Amy’s family visit to Chicago was overcast, Chris used his photography skills to ensure her family shone out against the cityscape behind so Amy could leave with her hands full of a stunning range of memories.
