When Judy and her husband were expecting a child, they took a “babymoon” to Capri, Italy, to enjoy some time together before their lives became very busy with their new baby. They wanted to capture their vacation before their beautiful bundle of joy arrived, so they hired Andrea to help them out.
Mother Nature Is Beautiful
Capri is a small island that sits off the south west coast of Italy, and has been a resort since the era of the Roman Republic. Its famous Marina Piccola, or Little Harbor, and high cliffs are post-card perfect, and its rugged scenery is an impeccable backdrop for photographs.
Andrea, our vacation photographer, used a variety of locations on the island, all the while using the area’s existing features, some of which were man-made, and some provided by Mother Nature. Andrea first took the couple to a high lookout, with sea views and stone walls.
They then walked along a path down the hillside, hand in hand. The happy soon-to-be parents rested along the way on stone benches and brick steps, taking their time, enjoying every minute together. The lush greenery of Capri’s natural foliage provided a beautiful contrast to the pale stone of the island’s architecture, and set up the couple for some truly stunning, natural, images.
Mothers Are Beautiful, Too
Although her husband takes a prominent place in the images, as he should, Judy is the star. In a rose pink off-the-shoulder dress, she is the essence of maternal beauty. Her gorgeous “bump” is not hidden, but proudly shown in the images; she is a mom-to-be, and simply glowing. Andrea even managed to find some flowers that were the same color as Judy’s dress, and the warm brick in much of Capri’s architecture only accentuated Judy’s coloring.
Andrea took many images of the couple together, as well, with Judy’s husband lovingly holding her “bump” and embracing his lovely wife. The images show their love and support for one another, as they embark on their next stage in life – parenthood.
The bond between Judy and her husband is obvious in these sweet images. They are peaceful and loving, and you can almost feel their anticipation for their new little one. This can be difficult to capture when taking images of ourselves, or our loved ones without the photographs seeming overly posed. So it is particularly special to be able to glimpse a couple’s bond through the use of a professional vacation
photographer like Andrea.
While they were on the island, Andrea was able to show the couple’s contemplative side, with quiet embraces. Her photographs are intimate and warm without being too intrusive or invasive. Judy and her husband could share their affection comfortably. They’re not posing, but are living in the moment, enjoying their time as a couple on Capri, not worrying about the photographer.
