Visit the Angkor National Museum
This should definitely be on your to-do list. A visit to the museum with the family will give you a glimpse of the Cambodian history. There is a state-of-the-art display of the Khmer civilization and the majesty that is Angkor.
Visitors are treated to a short presentation, then an amazing gallery of a thousand Buddhas. It is zen-like and magical. You will feel like you have been transported to a whole new universe.
Enjoy an Incredible Night at the Circus
You will love the circus, and especially the kids will find it magical. Nothing kicks off a vacation, than with a night filled with fun and laughter. The Phare Cambodian Circus is high-energy, fun and hilarious. The circus will be by far the most enjoyable evenings you will spend at Siem Reap.
If you are worried about animals, worry not. This circus does not use any animals. They will do some acrobatics and tricks to amazingly incredible Cambodian music. They also make you laugh, so you are assured of an incredible time with the kids.
Pre-temple Excursions with the Kids
If you think you are done with the temples, you are dead wrong. There’s still plenty to do at the temples with the kids. They may be thinking that the temples are simply piles of rocks, so you must convince them that they are so much more.
There are incredibly pretty crafts and statues for your kids to see and the team at the Angkor National Museum can organize some treasure hunts and fun excursions to the temples. They get to run around, go wild and have a great time.
Chase the Butterflies with the Kids
After a visit to the parks, some of the best experiences you will have with your family especially the kids will be at the temple ruins that are afield. This are less visited so you will have some private time just with your family.
These jungles are enveloped by the jungle, and they have lots of atmosphere and free grounds to run around as you try to catch some beautiful butterflies. The kids will get to learn about nature and enjoy the beautiful butterflies.
The Landmine Museum
If you have some teenagers with you, this will be a great place for them to have a good time. They can see all the exhibits, and read lots and lots of texts they will probably need for a history lesson. You can spend at least 30 minutes at the museum, or book a guide to take you for a very long tour filled with nothing but historical lessons. Everyone will get to learn something at the museum.
