The name for Singapore comes from the Malay term for the town it was founded on of Singapura. And the Malay term was taken from the Sanskrit one which literally means lion town. While the lions only exist at the Singapore Zoo the name stuck and Singapore is known as the Lion City as well as the Garden City, given how easily plants grow in the lush tropical climate.
Singapore is an archipelago, a collection of 63 islands in the Singapore Strait. It was established as a British colony in the 1800’s through a treaty and purchase from a local sultan. Sergiy’s Solo Photoshoot by the Waterfront
Sergiy has spent enough time in Singapore to know that it’s a prime location for a personal photoshoot. Everywhere you look, scenic skyscrapers abound and the beautiful waters of the Indian Ocean lap at the shore. What better place could there be for a professional photoshoot, right?
Manosh is a local photographer who regularly shoots destination and portrait photography for visitors and locals alike. When Sergiy reached out to him, they were able to coordinate to decide exactly what Sergiy was looking for. Sergiy was looking for something to enhance his own personal brand. As we see in the photographs he even brings along his own Sony mirrorless camera for the shoot.

Even though Sergiy is no stranger to using a camera it’s just not the same as having a photographer in place with the right perspective. Manosh and Sergiy worked together to capture stellar images that show both Sergiy and Singapore in a flattering light.
Mixing it up at a mall in Singapore was also a success. The diversity of lines and patterns made for intriguing images along with Sergiy’s poses. Manosh does an excellent job of making it seem as if Sergiy has the entire city to himself! We don’t see a single person in any of these images even though Singapore is one of the most crowded cities in the world!
