My name is Banri. I’m a photographer based in Osaka working for magazines, music industry and agencies for many years. I mainly take portraits and like to work with natural light. Osaka is friendly city, all people welcome you. Please have fun.
1)I’m practicing Shugendo which is an ancient religion of Japan, a mixture of mountain worship, Shinto, Buddhism and etc. It started in 7th century. Through hard practice, practitioners look for attaining enlightenment. 2)visiting temples. 3)ridding KAWASAKI.
There are so many places here… Osaka castle, Shinsekai, Tenpouzan, Doutonbori, Umeda, Sumiyoshi shrine, Shitennouji temple, USJ. Even at night, It is very bright around Doutonbori area, it is fun to take night shots too.
I speak Japanese and English.
Banri is a professional Osaka photographer based in the city itself, with years of experience shooting for magazines, the music industry, and creative agencies. He focuses on portraits and prefers working with natural light, which gives his images an unforced, editorial quality. His relaxed sentiment that “Osaka is a friendly city, all people welcome you” shapes how every session feels.
Banri is rooted in Osaka and works exclusively in the city, which means his location knowledge is unmatched among the photographers covering it. He shoots regularly at Osaka Castle, Shinsekai, Tenpouzan, Dotonbori, Umeda, Sumiyoshi Shrine, Shitennoji Temple, and Universal Studios Japan. He is particularly skilled at the Dotonbori canal blue-hour shot, walking clients east of Ebisu Bridge to find the gap in the crowd where the signboards recede into the distance and the canal water becomes glassy before the dinner-cruise boats arrive. The 10-minute window when the sky matches the canal exactly is, in his words, the photo.
Banri works only in Osaka. For travelers building a multi-city Kansai itinerary, this means he is the right choice for the Osaka leg specifically and is best paired with other Localgrapher photographers in Kyoto or Nara if those cities are also on the schedule.
Portraits are Banri’s specialty, whether for couples, families, solo travelers, or engagement sessions. His shoots have a calm, observational quality that comes from his magazine and music-industry work, plus a personal practice of Shugendo, an ancient Japanese tradition of mountain worship that informs his patience and attention. He also enjoys visiting temples and riding his Kawasaki, both of which surface naturally in conversation when he is helping clients pick locations. Banri speaks Japanese and English, and night shots around Dotonbori are one of his signature offerings, where the bright illumination makes the area unusually photogenic after dark.
