Style:

My photography style is very reportage and journalistic. I love capturing natural and candid photos with as much natural light as possible. I care less for posed and structured/formal photos. I enjoy photographing people in their natural state whether it be laughing with each other or capturing raw emotion between two people. Preferably I enjoy capturing images of people doing what they love to do and I love combining this to make each shoot personal and unique.

I love travelling, before living in Portugal I lived in Asia for almost ten years and I have travelled all over Asia. I am very passionate about travelling and I feel that it adds another element to my photography. I love food and I am such a foodie! Most of my trips are based on the cuisine of the country and that is how I plan my next trip! I feel that it gives such an insight into the culture of a place and by trying and tasting their food, it helps you connect with the people and the country. I also love running, here in Portugal it is perfect for running as you can run for miles along the coast line which is beautiful. I have ran two marathons and I am training for my third next year in Lisbon.

Recommended places:

I love shooting in Cascais, although it is a small town on the outskirts of Lisbon, it’s provides so many beautiful photo opportunities. One of my favourite places to shoot is Guincho Beach as it is very rugged and wild, even the weather there is the same. It reminds me of Ireland, where I am originally from. Another place that is a favourite of mine is close to Santa Marta Lighthouse here in Cascais. It offers breathtaking views of the Lighthouse and ocean. The colours of the lighthouse blend with the ocean and it is also quite a rugged area with sand and shrubs too. Therefore for a photographer, it’s quite a unique spot. For Cascais being a small town there are many narrow, quaint and traditional side streets around the centre of Cascais that offers photo opportunities around every corner.
